Is technology limiting Creativity or Creating Technology Risk

Is Technology Limiting Creativity?

When we talk about this topic specifically in terms of age group, every definition summarizes differently.

When we talk about technology limiting creativity in children, studies have shown that it is true. It is strongly argued that technology does diminish the creativity that kids have who are always into computer and electronic devices in general which causes the lack of imaginative activities that are in charge of building the child’s creativity.

Is technology limiting Creativity

When we talk about a child’s mind, it is at a crucial stage where a lot of things matter. Like we invest our time in thinking about what the best education and such will be. But attention is key to creativity.

In simpler words, when they use a device, their attention is invested in that device. And at this stage and age, simple tactics like problem-solving, or intellect skills in general start to develop.

If the time is being given to devices, which will have their attention by just watching the screen for hours and ignoring the mind developmental needs, it will result in creativity being underlined by the developing mind.

Thus, making their creative development behind as compared to their peers.

But, being exposed to technology can also make the child’s thinking like an internet approach. That is, quickly scanning and processing a lot of sources of information.

For example, like if the child is using a tablet for drawing, or art in general. In that case, his or her creativity does not get questioned because they are practising a skill of art which is sketching and drawing.

Or some school require the student to be equipped with a laptop or such.

So, technology is not entirely a negative source that will lower your child’s mental ability entirely.

As one of the studies tells us that technology has shown an increase in intelligence; however, it has reduced the levels of creativity. Though, there is not much of proper evidence that sternly states or proves that the decline in creativity is done because of the use and effects on technology on the individual. Nevertheless, what is believed is that technology has a connection with the decline in the scores of creativity.

Technology Risk

Technology risk, as the name suggests, refers to any potential failures of technology that can affect your business for say. It can be service outrages, information security incidences. Detailed examples can be as follows:

  • A tech project crosses the budget limit, which results in failure to meet the deadlines set by the business case.
  • An algorithm that makes a series of unnecessary trades which result in a loss.

There are many types of Technology threats. One of them being internet-related technology risks.

As our technology advances, so make these threats. So along with that latest technology “update” would not save you from the risks, but rather expose you to many. Some of these threats are:

  • Birthdate
  • Names
  • Addresses
  • Social security numbers

And it took six weeks to notify their customers about the mis happening.

That is why there are managements and jobs subjected to technology risks called Technology Risk Management or Monitoring and Managing Technological Risks.

The people who work under these job titles, effectively monitor, and manage technological risks.

Here is how they minimise the number of technological risks. Given below are seven steps that they follow. They are:

  • Identifying key risks, measuring probability, and the impact
  • Analysing security threat (s)

– System access and controls

– Authentication

  • Analysing the risk of software and hardware failure
  • Analysing outsourcing risks
  • Identifying controlled technology
  • Measuring the impact
  • Ranking potential risks and specifying desired outcomes

What technology wants?

So, what is the deal with technology anyways, and what does it want? Technology is definitely not confined to one profession but rather millions. From the Art Industries to Astronomy and Space missions, technology has always been present, making the impossible, possible.

The technology exists in order to serve a significant purpose and making our lives easier and efficient and most importantly, comfortable.

So, what does technology want?

Technology definitely wants improvement; there is always room for improvement when it comes to things like technology. The more you can improve, the better life becomes for you and those around you. It also would help to reach milestones for achieving the next goal.

The next thing to the state would be that we need technology. We need technology for so many reasons, like the ones stated above.

The advantages of technology are:

  • Agility, Efficiency, Speed

Technology is “evergreen” it is always evolving, and there’s still a new software which emerges to solve problems and all the inefficiency that a company may or may not have or be even aware of it. When the technology is designed, its primary goal is to speed up the work processes, giving you people an important and an ultimate resource.

For example, businesses beat the competitors just because they were able to respond to data, adapt to changes and make decisions quickly with the help of the new technology.

  • Storage and Sharing

People should not waste their time looking for files documents or information or location of the files in documents because this causes a delay in time and time is valuable to each one of us and that in the case of businesses costs them money.

  • Mobility and Remote Connectivity

Being able to access technology from anywhere has increased the growth of the freelancer economy, and by 2027, as the study reports, freelancers are expected to become the majority of the working force in the US.

  • Communication

Communication plays a very significant role in our day to day lives having technology to improve our means of communication will make it easier and efficient for us to accelerate our messages do both internal and external communication.

  • Automation

One of the advantages of the latest technology is that it allows organizations to automate functions that previously required employees. For example, data entry, analytics, contact management, now these works are done by with the help of technology and not by the human element.
